Sanath Wimalasiri


 



Sanath Wimalasiri who has excelled on the small screen. His first appearance in the small screen in which he is more popular today was ‘Nedayo’ teledrama directed by Nalan Mendis in 1996. In his journey to stardom Sanath has won awards both for stage and small screen roles and won awards at Youth Awards Festival in 1997 and Best Actor award at State Drama Festival in 1998.
He also won the Best Upcoming actor award at the Sumathi Tele Award for his performance in Jayantha Chandrasiri’s “Rejina” and the Silver Award for his role in Mohanji Ranganatha’s “Asani Wesi” at SIGNIS award ceremony. Imaka Pema is Sanath’s third film his other being Anura Horatius’ “Sonduru Dadabima” and Mapitigama’s earlier film “Hela Langa”.
A dancing teacher at present at D. S. Senannayake College this young actor is waiting to enter the music world and test his talent in the future.
